ARE YOU DESIRING BAPTSM BECAUSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO ENROL YOUR CHILD IN THE LOCAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL AND PLACES ARE SHORT?

Please don’t ask for Baptism simply because you are wanting to enrol your child in a Catholic School.

Asking for Baptism is only for those who truly are asking to become a part of the Church and wanting to follow the Lord as disciples and make the Catholic faith a significant part of their lives and actions. It is a significant step for adults and their families and priests are asked to only baptise people where there is a reasonable prospect that they will practise the faith they have asked to be part of.

If this is about enrolment opportunities, There is a much better option.

On the Fraser Coast, there are two major Catholic High Schools in the region and both are excellent.

If you are having difficulty enrolling your child in, for example, Xavier Catholic College in Hervey Bay, please seriously consider enrolling them in St Mary’s College Maryborough, which is, historically the mother college.

St Mary’s is a college of excellent academic standing. There are transport options from Hervey Bay to Maryborough that are worth considering.

You don’t need to have your child baptised in order to enrol them in an excellent Catholic School.
