Coming Up Soon
Aria Angels – Brisbane South Deanery
Reaching out to families before and after Baptism, this is a special time for children - birth to 5 yrs with parents / grandparents / caregivers.
The child’s first teacher is usually the parent and those early years bring rapid growth physically, verbally and emotionally. Aria Angels aims to celebrate the small pleasures, nurture holistic development, imagine the possibilities and create meaningful relationships. Children learn their faith as they learn to walk, talk, create and explore.
The Deanery is preparing to offer Aria Angels during 2012. In order to do this we need to identify and then provide formation for a small team of people who would be able to run this ministry.
Aria Angels provides an opportunity for families to be connected to parish communities after their child’s baptism through to their commencement of school. Aria Angels through joyful, interactive experiences nurtures spirituality in families through singing games, rhymes, art, dance, stories and prayer.
The Deanery is looking for people with musical experience, art experience and welcoming and hospitality skills.
Gail Godfrey from the John Paul II Centre will run the Aria Angels program. Dates for Term 2 are May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6 and 13. Sessions are held at Our Lady of Lourdes Sunnybank. Each session lasts just under two hours and includes four segments music, art, morning tea conversation and closing prayer. It is hoped that during this time people who have been identified to run this ministry will be able to be trained. Further formation will be provided for these people to assist with their ongoing ministry.
Please contact Anne Scott Brisbane South Deanery Project Officer on 0429 777 950 if you are interested in assisting.
