Community News
The Cathedral was full last week for the Archbishop's Installation. There were over thirty Bishops and 150 Priests. It was a great celebration of the
Church. We look forward to having Archbishop Mark Coleridge lead the Church of the
Archdiocese of Brisbane. The Installation ceremony may still be viewed by clicking on the link above.
10.30am CHILDREN'S MASS
The 10.30am Mass on Sunday morning at
Sunnybank Parish, on the first Sunday of each month,
will be a children's Mass. At this Mass the children will
be involved in the readings.

60TH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL
The 2012 School Fete will be held on Sunday 26th August in the school grounds from 9:00 am
to 3:00 pm. As part of the Fete there will be a School Memorabilia display and ask that any
member of the Sunnybank Parish community - especially former students, parents or staff who
have items that would be suitable for display please contact the school principal, Mark Badke on
either mbadke@bne.catholic.edu.au or 3345 0700. We are particularly looking for photographs
with a story, former school uniforms, samples of student work or other items that help to tell the
story of Our Lady of Lourdes School. All items will be well cared for while we hold them and
returned after the Fete.
ALL YOUNG MARRIED COUPLES!!! (That is all couple who consider themselves to be young and have been married for 0-10 years) Save the date: Friday June 8th. Mass at 6.30pm followed by a shared dinner (please bring a plate to share). (There is lots of space for the kids to run around/play if you can't find babysitters). persons of middle-age meet every 1st Sunday of the

SUNNYBANK AND ACACIA RIDGE PARISHES FRIENDSHIP GROUP
Our next Friendship Group meeting will be on 23rd May, at
9.30 a.m. in the Paloma Centre. All who have booked for
our cruise our guest speaker will be Lyndal who will bring us
up to date on the latest news relating to the cruise and excursions.

1. Final bookings and payment for our 30th Anniversary
Luncheon, which will be held on 13th June in the Jacaranda
Room of our Parish Complex are due on the 23rd
May. Lunch will be a 2-course hot lunch with wine, punch,
tea and coffee. The cost will be $15.00 for members
and $20.00 for non-members. If you have special dietary requirements, please let us know
when booking either for bus or lunch.

CATHOLIC KIDS NET CLUB MEETINGS 2012

Activities Room - Paloma Centre
3:00pm - 5:00pm (4yrs - 11yrs)
At meetings children learn about their faith in a fun way
through activities, crafts, games and stories. It's a great way
to develop children's love for God and interest in the Catholic
Church in a way they can relate to. They also get
to meet and mix with children of the same faith.

OUR LADY OF LOURDES MONDAY PLAYGROUP
If you have children under school age and are looking for
an opportunity to join with other parents and
caregivers in our playgroup.
We run every Monday of the school year from 9 am until
11 am. If you are interested in joining us you will find us in the
Paloma Centre Activities room in Sunnybank (upstairs at
the back of the Paloma Centre) or call Jane 0418 725 419
ARIA ANGELS:
Reaching out to families before and after Baptism, this is a special time for children - birth to 5 yrs with parents /
grandparents / caregivers.
Aria Angels through joyful, interactive experiences nurtures spirituality in families through singing games,
rhymes, art, dance, stories and prayer.
The Deanery is offering Aria Angels in Term 2 on Wednesday Mornings May 2,9,16,23,30,June 6 and 13 at 9am. The
sessions are held at Our Lady of Lourdes Mains Road Sunnybank. Each session lasts just under two hours and includes
music, art, morning tea conversation and closing prayer.
